The best size for a Facebook post image
Most Facebook users scroll on phones, where tall images take more space. Facebook displays images in the feed up to a 4:5 ratio, so 1080 × 1350 is the best choice for single-image posts. Square 1080 × 1080 also works everywhere. For images shared with a link, use 1200 × 630.
| Post type | Size (px) |
|---|---|
| Portrait image post | 1080 × 1350 |
| Square image post | 1080 × 1080 |
| Link preview image | 1200 × 630 |
| Event cover | 1920 × 1005 |
| Facebook Story | 1080 × 1920 |

How to make a Facebook post
- Pick “Promo post”, “Bold sale” or “Event night”.
- Write a short headline and the key detail: the discount, the date or the benefit.
- Add your product photo or logo from Uploads.
- Download PNG and attach it to your post. Put the details and the link in the post text.
What works on Facebook
- Local and personal: real photos of your shop, team and customers beat generic stock images.
- Clear offers: “−30% on all bread before 9 am” is better than “Great deals!”.
- Little text on the image: keep the headline short and write the rest in the caption.
- Group-friendly visuals: in groups, helpful tips and checklists get shared more than ads.
- Consistency: use the same colors and fonts so followers recognise your posts.
Using the same design on Instagram
A 1080 × 1350 Facebook image is exactly the Instagram portrait size, so you can post it to both without changes. For Stories, use Resize → Story.
Frequently asked questions
What size is a Facebook post image?

Yes. 1080 × 1350 is also Instagram’s portrait post size.
